Frequently Asked Questions

Are classes free for employers?

There are two ways to support the Literacy Coalition so we can provide classes to your organization. The first is for a small fee of $950 per course, or partner with us to apply for a foundation grant or a city contract to cover the course fees.

Do employers have to purchase all six courses?

No, our curriculum is built, so we can accommodate what employers need. You can purchase one course or all six. There are bundle rates for three and six courses.

Does the course accommodate terminology and situations unique to my organization?

Yes! Before classes even begin, we will work with your team to identify specific areas in the curriculum that need modification. This could include special terms, job tasks, building layout, and more.

Do I pay the Literacy Coalition for finding pipeline talent?

Nope! We strive to find employment for every one of our graduates. So, employers do not pay to be a part of the pipeline.

Do I have to hire your graduates if my organization is a part of the employer pipeline?

Absolutely not! Literacy Coalition’s role is to connect job seekers to employers and to prepare our students for the application, interviewing, and hiring process. As an employer, you have the right to hire or not hire a recent graduate.

Are your graduates eligible to work in the U.S.?

Yes! As part of our funding, work eligibility is required with all our job training students.
