How often does the board meet?
The board meets four times a year, with the annual meeting typically held in August. Each board meeting typically lasts two to three hours.
How is Literacy Coalition funded?
We receive funding from city and state entities, private foundations, corporate sponsors, and individual donors.
How often do committees meet?
Depends. The Executive Committee meets monthly, the Finance and Advisory Committee meets quarterly, and the Marketing Committee meets as needed.
What is the process for board recruitment?
Each potential new board member is met by the Board Chair and CEO. Once a new member is vetted, they are presented to the full board. The board votes in all potential new members.
How many staff does the Literacy Coalition have?
There are 10 to 15 employees on staff. The ratio for operations staff to program staff is 10% to 90%. Visit the About page to see current employees.
